The building form responds to the need to maintain ongoing operation of the existing facility throughout construction of the new building, while creating highly functional interior spaces and seamless integration to the outdoor play spaces.

 

The project is located on a historical landfill with challenging soil stability and contamination. This was addressed by implementing a pile foundation and an airtight membrane below the building to control harmful soil gas.
